FLUID BED DRYER (FBD)

A FBD (Fluid Bed Dryer) is a very widely used dryer mostly in Pharmaceutical, API industries for gentle air drying of products.

This equipment has a fluidized stream of hot air used for drying of products which are sensitive to agitation or need to maintain crystal sizes. The machine has a cake bed formed on perforated mesh and hot air is blown with even distribution from bottom. The hot air gives gentle fluidization and shaking-mixing of the cake and the moisture gets carried away into the air.

This gives uniform drying and almost 100 % removal of moisture. Also, it can be cleaned in place thoroughly. FBD can be used for drying of products which are sensitive to heat as well by controlling the air flow and maintaining the dryness of incoming air. It is suitable for drying of free-flowing powders and also used for granulation in some applications.

This equipment is very widely used in drying process of various Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, Fine Chemicals, Agro Chemicals, Pharmaceutical and API’s and even Food industries.

It can be provided in GMP, Non-GMP constructions.
